Olive is the new black—
And it's here to stay through the coming seasons.
August is always a month of mixed emotions. It's a time for change, a time to say good bye and a time for a fresh start. Summer is ending and the sunny days will begin to get shorter, but the future is only getting brighter. This blog is going through a transformation, as I'm sure you have noticed. It's all a work in progress. In with the new and out with the old, a fresh look for fall.
Fall is great, crisp air, the changing of the leaves and of course: fall fashion. I'm in love with most of the fall trends this year. Which isn't always the case, I've always felt I wasn't a very trendy girl. I'm the sort of girl who likes what I like, despite what is "trending" and this year most of the staples are things I tend to incorporate anyway. Let's first talk a little about winter white: white clothing does not have to be put away in the cedar trunk after labor day— break the rules a little. I love redefining the unconventional and the perfect winter white and creme tones look great with the warm tones of fall; DO IT! I'm also a big fan of all the leather accents, emerald green tones, and of course the military-esque influences— hence the new craze for the olive colored wardrobe pieces. It's a fantastic color, I really do feel like its the super power neural to bring all colors together, especially other neutrals.
I fell in love with this great sweetheart- cut olive dress. It's super casual, but still cute and I scored it at Target, actually the whole outfit besides the sunglasses and bag are all from the same affordable favorite!
I'm sad to see the summer's end in the midst, but there is still much to come. The next two weeks I'm making sure to end this summer with a bang! I'm going to see Avicii at Martha Clara Vineyards, then going to Atlantic City for two days for one of my dear friend's bachelorette party, then off for 3 days to celebrate my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend, and then I am going to Electric Zoo on Randall's Island in NYC! So awesomeness and you all will have a first hand look at all my adventures.
Mossimo: Dress // Converse: Sweatshirt Blazer // Dole Vita for Target: Wedges
Necklace (Target) // Calf Hair Belt (Target) // Ray Ban: Vintage 70's Sunnies
// Emma Fox: Fold Over Bag
with such a tanned body olive colour looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove it, suits you so well, plus those wedges. They are really nice.
