An Intimate Evening with Art Alexakis

We can live beside the ocean,
Leave the fire behind..

There is always something that reminds me of  g r o w i n g  u p  when I listen to Everclear.  The voice of Art Alexakis always rang so full of emotion and I felt like he understood being a kid, growing up and playing out whatever you were dealt. 

It was perfect, spending the evening with one of my favorite ladies at City Winery enjoying great tapas, wine and of course the sweet 90's west coast style acoustics of Art Alexakis.  

I know, I'm such a cornball. I can't help it, I'm such a sucker of all that is nostalgic. As time inevitably seems to move faster, I have always felt life is about the memories you collect. And for me, music always cemented every moment in my life.

Such a great venue. Its a decent size, while still being intimate. The table are super tight on the floor, but that's to be expected. Of course they had a gray wine menu and a surprising interesting choice of tapas. 

Well, for once in my life —I didn't shoot the food. There was some great food and on that night,  no food shots were snapped.  But, I will still tell you what we ate. 

| we ate : 

a Black Kale Ceasar Salad : celery root, croutons, boquerone

a Seared Scallop Tapa :  vanilla-cider reduction, black trumpet

 mushroom, red walnuts, parsnip puree

a Wild & Cultivated Mushrooms : sage, goat cheese béchamel
